This page highlights my blog posts about our various Virginia State Park visits as we work to complete our Trail Quest journey. Trail Quest is a program sponsored by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and its vast state park system. Visitors are encouraged to visit each of the state’s 40 parks (Breaks Interstate Park, which shares land with Kentucky and is not maintained by the Virginia DCR, is counted as the 41st park by some but is not required). Visitors can then log their visits on the Trail Quest webpage. Pins are mailed out at certain milestones: first park, fifth park, 10th park, 20th park, and final park. Those who visit all 40 parks will also receive a Master Hiker certificate in a little ceremony at the state park of their choosing. So far, my family and I have visited 13 of the state’s 40 parks. You can read about our adventures via the links below, which I will update periodically. Happy Adventuring!
